Hotel of the week:Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki,Greece

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki for 2 nights,2 weeks ago.It is located just 10 minutes from the International Airport,so it is the ideal option for travelers with a stopover and for travelers who need to relax, after a long flight, before starting their journey to North Greece. It is also an important consideration for business travelers who undertake short visits to Thessaloniki.I would not recommend it to travelers who want to enjoy the heart of the city and do all the necessary sightseeing because it is about 15 km from the city center. However, the hotel offers a free bus to the center (and back) many times during the day.

ABOUT THE RESORT: The Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki is a real five-star hotel and deserves to be a proud member of the Hyatt family. I was very impressed by the facilities that include a huge outdoor swimming pool,an indoor pool,a Fitness Center and an Asian Spa.The outdoor swimming pool, which is surrounded by beautiful gardens,is almost a paradise. You can spend all day,lie down  and avoid the heat of the city center.
The poolside restaurant,Oceana, offers snacks and dishes of great quality, along with coffee and drinks.

The hotel's main restaurant,Ambrosia, includes a wonderful terrace that overlooks the gardens and the swimming pool. The breakfast is served there.Isn't this a lovely place to start the day?The breakfast has many options and it is exactly what you expect from a five-star hotel.

ABOUT THE ROOM: My room was a standard five-star hotel's room.It was spacious and comfortable with a king bed, which provided a good quality of sleep. The wardrobe was large with enough space for clothes, shoes and bags. The full equipped bathroom was also spacious with separate shower and bathtub. The whole room was very clean. The decoration was a bit old fashioned.
Fortunately,i have booked a room with garden-pool views and i believe you should do the same!
There was a balcony with wonderful views of the resort. However,it was not equipped with chairs,so i had to remove a chair from inside the room.
I also tried the room service which was more than satisfying.Fast enough,it had large variety of choices. The dishes i picked were delightful.

Finally, the whole very nice experience at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki changed my negative first point of view. The truth is that i was not given the warmest welcome. The receptionist was arrogant and a bit rude.As i said, this bad, first impression totally changed just because all the staff, from the housekeepers to the waiters, were kind, friendly and very helpful.Furthermore, the last day i was given a 3 hour late-check out ,so i had one more reason to be satisfied.
In the end i would, definitely, recommend the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki and i would be back, for sure.Such a beautiful Resort that offers great service and good value for money.Overall a lovely experience.
