A stylish day in Casablanca,Morocco.

1.Have breakfast at Brasserie La Tour Restaurant.

Located on the ground floor of the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche Hotel,Brasserie La Tour is a classy eatery, one of the best in the city. Its menu features creative French cuisine and changes weekly.
The energetic colours of the armchairs and pillows set the tone for the whole restaurant.Bunches of white lilies and bright pink orchids lend the dining room a playful air, while the beautiful fountain in the middle makes it even more attractive.
Here you can savour French Brasserie classics all day. However, breakfast buffet offers much more.A wide selection of food with special emphasis on local delicacies, many vegetarian and even gluten free options.Menu includes everything, from the basics to more intriguing alternatives.Begin your day choosing from a wide variety of fresh pastries, waffles, crepes, muffins, healthy salads, seasonal fruits, cheeses and cold cuts.
Some staples dazzle outright: A hearty well-prepared omelette right from the Chef and the unbeatable scrambled eggs with smoked salmon can’t be missing from the table.

2.Have brunch, lunch or just a cup of coffee at Sqala Restaurant.

Located at the edge of Casablanca’s Ancienne Medina (Old Medina) inside the walls of a fortified citadel,Sqala Restaurant -also known as Cafe Maure- features authentic Moroccan food. Not only is it famous for its epic Tajines but also for its divine fresh juices.Menu includes rich meat dishes as well as many vegetarian options.Couscous here is 100 percent delicious. As a typical Moroccan Restaurant it doesn’t serve alcohol, there is a variety of teas and coffees instead.Sample traditional Moroccan mint tea or an aromatic espresso.Do not miss the revitalising tomato juice.
Its fascinating outdoor area, where majorelle blue colour dominates,is like a refreshing oasis,an escape from this stressful city.Surrounded by trees and flowering fences, with a pretty mosaic fountain in the middle, this private,
colourful garden is a romantic hideaway for couples and a cozy hangout for tourists,a friendly place in Morocco’s Business Capital’s wild and tourist unfriendly environment.

3.Have dinner at Rick’s Cafe.

Since launching in early 2004 and elbowing its way ahead of the pack
-attracting more and more international visitors- this iconic cafe, restaurant and piano bar has become an essential.Maybe because it achieves something unique: To bring a film legend to life.Housed in a traditional Moroccan Mansion,Rick’s Cafe represents the prestigious Rick’s Cafe Americain from the Hollywood classic,Casablanca.Owner Kathy Kriger,a former US diplomat who worked at the US Embassy in Morocco’s capital,Rabat extensively analysed the movie in order to implement the architectural and design details of the imaginary cafe in her real one.
And here we are 60 years later: A Hollywood fantasy comes into existence and Kriger accomplishes her dream.
From the moment you step inside,Rick’s Cafe is almost breathtaking. There’s the gorgeous arched courtyard with its balconies, wooden details, green plants, bronze mosaic lamps, elegant table lamps and Pleyel piano that seems to throw you back in time, transporting you inside the 1942 movie. “As Time Goes by” is frequently played by the pianist while “Casablanca” is looped continually at a perfectly designed, panelled room on the first floor.

Finally, fine dining is alive and very well inside the impressive dining room. Serving international dishes along with some Moroccan classics,Rick’s Cafe is a true Casablanca gem.Menu includes different kinds of meat (steaks, lamb, pork, duck),however it focuses on seafood and fish.Fish is sourced from the local market and meets the restaurant’s high standards.Pasta couldn't also be missing from the list.
Just be sure to try the amazing goat cheese croquettes and don't forget to save room for dessert:Rick’s cheesecake is a really good choice.
Rick’s Cafe is located in Ancienne Medina, near the port.
Make a reservation in advance.Otherwise the friendly staff will try to do their best for you.
