One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things

Splendid Warsaw,Poland-A city to inspire you this fall.

Situated in east-central Poland, its capital and largest city certainly is a scenic, worth seeing place.Sitting at the junction of the roads to Krakow and Vilnius,Warsaw currently is the most important market and cultural centre in the country.Dating back to the 13th century, it demonstrates rich history and terrifying moments such as the Warsaw Ghetto -the largest Jewish ghetto in German-occupied Europe- and its almost complete damage during the Second World War.
Now, it is a modern city full of energy. It is heaven for nightlife lovers offering various restaurants, bars and glowing nightclubs.

The majestic Palace of Culture and Science -a gift from the Soviet Union- stands out from the impressive skyline.

Warsaw’s glory undoubtedly is its Old Town which was completely rebuilt following the devastating bombings by the German army during WWII.In 1980 it was designated a Unesco World Heritage Site.Everywhere you look in Old Town you will discover small pretty squares, elegant buildings as well as some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks such as the St John’s Cathedral and the sumptuous Royal Castle.
In the heart of the Old Town there is the Old Town Market Place, its oldest and actually most beautiful part.
This outstanding square contains a number of Renaissance-style houses picked out in pastel hues of pink, brown and yellow as well as Warsaw Mermaid, the city’s symbol since 1855.The Old Town Market Place is the ideal area to explore Warsaw’s vibrant entertainment scene as it is home to many cafes, bars and restaurants.Yes, there’s always something going on here!

A short distance away there is the alluring Castle Square, the entrance of Warsaw Old Town.In this historic plaza you can find some of the city’s finest architecture. Its highlights are the Sigismund’s Column, a Corinthian column with a King’s Sigismund III Vasa statue on its top and the notorious Royal Castle. This sight which for centuries was the official residency of the Polish Kings now serves as a museum holding an impressive display of paintings and sculpture.Among its many interesting exhibitions the much more affecting is this: “The Royal Castle-From Destruction to Reconstruction”.The Royal Castle was also a target for Nazi attacks, was completely destroyed and rebuilt after the end of WWII.

Lazienki Park along with the Old Town are the top attractions of Warsaw.
Situated in the city’s central district it is part of the famous Royal Route which links the three Royal Residences,Royal Castle,Lazienki Palace and Wilanow Palace.
Lazienki Park or Royal Baths Park is a nest of beautiful passageways, however it offers much more than a picturesque nature walk. This is a great place to spend your day with little more to do than birdwatching (the park is home to swans, ducks and peacocks). It offers a compact dose of history and fantastic architecture. There is also an explosion of cultural activities here.It is a common venue for music and arts. Ok,the thing to do is to get lost, wander for a few hours and enjoy the magical landscape. But try not to miss the outstanding Lazienki Palace, the Theater on the Isle as well as the Chopin Monument, the statue of the famous Polish musician,Frederic Chopin.
Discover the park’s hidden buildings and monuments -and why not, with a guide in your hand, reading at the same time- and learn when, how, for which purpose were all these constructed and their development through the years.Take a break and enjoy innovative Polish cuisine at the many times awarded Belvedere Restaurant at the New Orangery. It is one of the best restaurants in the entire country.

The best way to appreciate Warsaw is to walk along Krakowskie Przedmiescie. Being part of the Royal Route, this extraordinary street is one of the city’s jewels as it hosts a number of illustrious structures such as the Presidential Palace,Warsaw University and Staszic Palace.
Likewise, well worth visit is the charming Nowy Swiat street. This good-looking boulevard which is an extension of Krakowskie Przedmiescie along the Royal Route is lined by bright colourful art nouveau architecture.
Boasting many restaurants, cafes and shops, it is a crossroad for both tourists and locals. It is the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by, especially after a long day of sightseeing.
