One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things

Summer favourite:The Blue Sand Boutique Hotel and Suites in Folegandros Island,Greece.

Popular for its exquisite location and warm hospitality, the Blue Sand Boutique Hotel and Suites might well be Folegandros best accommodation.
Matching the island’s white housed architectural landscape it impressively rises on a rocky hillside and overlooks the crystal clear Aegean waters. It lies 5 km north-west of Folegandros Chora (town).
A Greek beach fantasy awaits you here. The stairs next to its fabulous open air terrace lead down to the sea.Agali is one of the island’s most beautiful beaches and yes, very luckily,is only few steps away. One thing you need to know before travelling to Folegandros Island is that the majority of the beaches are only accessible by boat.So yes!! There is a big advantage here, right??

On arrival the concrete staircase takes you up to the blushy ornamented lobby.Small but so adorable at the same time,it is outfitted with white sofas, wooden pieces of furniture, shell shaped vases and an extraordinary chandelier. There is also a small boutique which sells souvenirs and very unique clothes and accessories.Shoes are definitely the big draw.
Welcome drinks and big smiles here greet new guests.Enjoy a glass of homemade lemonade, admire the spectacular view on this sun filled day and you have already checked in.

Blue Sand offers chic,well-appointed,very clean rooms with extra comfortable beds. All face the pretty blue oasis, have balconies -a multitude of sizes- and some have bean bag chairs that tempt guests.
Stuck somewhere between elegance and simplicity, the decor feels so beautiful. Here modern meets Cycladic tradition and white and navy blue dominate.Gorgeous wooden details flood the cheery ambiance. All rooms are full of island charm with attractive furniture and contemporary paintings and pieces of art.High-tech amenities include LCD TV with satellite service and high speed internet access.Kitchen facilities include well- stocked mini bar and Nespresso coffee maker.Bathrooms are equipped with luxurious cotton bathrobes, slippers and Greek brand’s Korres amenities.

Representing the traditions of the Greek Islands and using only the finest ingredients Blue Sand’s restaurant offers tasty cuisine and exquisite Greek wines while the side bar serves up -what else-delicious cocktails and great coffee. This hip bar attracts something of a beautiful crowd in the small upscale interior.Grab a refreshing juice or an attractive cocktail -be sure to try the “Blue Sand”-and join the discussion. Then step out to the terrace.Yes,this is the best bet!
Inviting sofas, comfortable armchairs, magnificent, picture perfect vistas of the Aegean Sea.What else could you want?Outfitted with black, white and grey overtones, this wonderful balcony is maybe the best in the entire island.
Sip an Aperol Spritz during the idyllic sunset. This was my most memorable summer moment,no doubt.

The first thing that hits you at this super-cool exterior is the spectacular view. The second might be the local flavours served at the restaurant. It is open all day long and there is a choice of a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its gastronomic highlights include traditional Greek specialties,
Mediterranean influenced hot and cold dishes and snacks such as deluxe burgers and club sandwiches. Here the olive oil is extra virgin and the ingredients locally sourced.Breakfast is fantastically fresh and attempts to bring the real taste of Greece into your plate.Expect homemade jams and cakes, healthy fruit salads, savoury bread,Greek style omelettes -have you ever tasted strapatsada?-and some of the country’s most famous recipes such as the yummy spanakopita.

Bringing together all the best of Folegandros, the fabulous Blue Sand fairly is amongst the island’s favourites with travellers.A good option for families and couples.
Escape your routine, enjoy the timeless Cycladic beauty and find relaxation at its majestic terrace. This “Aegean” balcony wonderfully stands on the cliff with much character, smell of fresh basil and phenomenal views of the bay making this one the island’s most atmospheric address.
