One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things

photo

20 hours in Milan.

And they were exactly 20 hours..The truth is that i didn't have the time to explore every corner of the city, but i still believe that my choice to start my trip to the French Riviera from Milan, was totally right. My night was brilliant and my morning walk, relaxing and pleasant.I am happy because i felt the good vibes of this city and i followed it's lifestyle. And this is enough.Milan is special and it's people more than special.Even if your stay is short, you will absolutely love it!

7:00 p.m. And i have already landed at the Milano Malpensa Airport.Fortunately, i have rent a car,so i don't have to search for the way i 'm moving to the city center...
Tip: Malpensa Airport is quite far from the city center (about 45 km). Make sure you take the train (Malpensa Express) or the bus, to reach your destination.Avoid the taxi. The cost is around 100 euros.
8:00 p.m. Yes! I am in Milan! It took me around 40 min to get from the airport to the hotel.I have just entered the room.
I have to say that the hotel (Chateau Monfort Hotel Milan) was a huge surprise,so,i will dedicate a entire post-photo gallery! Actually, it is one of the most beautiful hotels i have ever stayed! Plus:Very good location and excellent service.
I gave myself a break and then took a shower, dressed, put on my heels.. I was ready for the night...
10:00 p.m. I am at the restaurant. As Milan is a city of fashion, you can,of course, shop designer brands but also, you can eat at their restaurants or have a drink at their cafes.I thought that would be a good experience,
so,i chose for dinner the Dolce & Gabbana Gold Restaurant. It was very close to my hotel,so better, because i went on foot.I wasn't wrong,it was an amazing experience! The Gold Restaurant is a stylish place with stylish people. So well decorated. The staff is efficient and friendly enough. The menu has many options and the wine list as well. They serve (of course) Italian cuisine. The food is very good.If you go,make sure you try the Sicilian specialities. It is a different category in the menu and the most of the dishes are delicious! And about the prices: They are high, but in my opinion, nothing is overpriced. It is a fine dinning restaurant and it is, definitely, worth the money. If you are not a fan of fine dinning, you can still visit this place.Right next to the the restaurant is the Martini Bar, where, you can have a cocktail. However,if you are not up to Dolce & Gabbana -for any reason-there are other restaurants with the same mentality, such as the famous Nobu at the Armani Hotel or the Restaurant at the Bulgari Hotel.

11:30 p.m. Finally, i am facing the most famous sight of Milan. The "Duomo di Milano". This Gothic Cathedral is the fifth largest in the world. It looks wonderful at night!A fabulous scenery, ready to be captured by the camera.
If you want to enjoy the views of the Duomo and take the best pictures, make sure you go after 9:00p.m. It is so strange, but it happens.Almost no one is around the square! It is so quiet and peaceful.
12:00 a.m. After the quick break for sightseeing, it's time for some drinks!
The truth is, that  i was searching for a nice high floor terrace with Milan views. And i actually found it!It is called "The Globe". This fine looking lounge bar faces a beautiful square called "Piazza Cinque Giornate". There is also a restaurant, just in case you want to have dinner. The thing that truly made my night (except the views) was that: This place was almost full packed and the majority of the clients were locals.I was so happy!Italian was the only language i was hearing around!
The Globe is the perfect option for a spring or a summer evening.A good place to taste the delicious Italian wines!Plus:The prices are more than normal.

2:00 a.m. And finally,a superb night in Milan ends.I am already in bed, resting and looking forward to the next day.
11:00 a.m. After some hours of sleep and a delicious breakfast at the Chateau Monfort (i have already said that i will dedicate an entire post-photo gallery to this beautiful and stylish hotel), i am ready to head to the heart of the city and walk through the most prestigious sights.
1.THE DUOMO: Again at the square. And what a surprise! It is totally different from last night! It is so crowded! However the Cathedral is the same stunning. It is so beautiful in the daylight too.

2.GALLERIA VITTORIO EMANUELE II: Right next to the Duomo,in this glass covered gallery are located some of the most famous fashion shops and some beautiful restaurants and cafes. The mosaic floor and the whole architecture give a great sense of luxury.

3.LA SCALA DI MILANO: A short walk from the Duomo, through la Galleria and you have already reached one of the most famous Operas in the world. Here have performed and still do the biggest singers of the kind.Unfortunately, i neither entered the Museum nor watched a performance.I didn't have the time. However, if you have time, it's a must do.
4.THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE is Milan's shopping district,Milan's glorious shopping streets, where designer stores and luxury brands are located. The Golden Triangle is a paradise for every fashionista from every corner of the globe.Do not miss it,even if you don't have the budget.
2:30 p.m. My time in Milan is running out.The last thing i want to do before i get into the car and continue my trip to the French Riviera is to enjoy a cup of cappuccino.I am entering a small, charming cafe and i am asking for take away. What a delightful moment!I am walking around the city's streets while drinking my cappuccino. Beautiful buildings, small pretty squares, trees, flower shops, the notorious tram of Milan passing by. Every moment in Milan, from the first to the last, was marvelous, just exactly like this.

Tip: If you want to take some rest and enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while overlooking the Duomo, there is a beautiful roof garden at the "La Rinascente " shopping mall.Just keep in mind that it's crowded and you will definitely wait to take a seat.
3:00 p.m. I am already in the car, leaving.I am not upset. The only thing i am thinking is that:During these 20 hours, outstanding pictures passed through my eyes.I felt the energy of the city deep inside me.And,for me,this is the most important.

All pictures belong to my personal photo gallery. I used Nikon D5200, i Phone 5 and Sony Cybershot camera.

  3. As a matter of first importance, air terminal exchanges are extremely basic and clear: once you have achieved your goal, the driver will stack your gear into the auto and take you straight to your goal.milan malpensa transfer
